AI training for

Private Equity and Venture Capital

Sharper diligence, faster synthesis, across the whole firm.

Most investment teams are already using ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot individually. The gap is between scattered personal use and a firm-wide way of working that partners trust, that survives the data-room NDA, and that shows up in IC prep and portfolio reporting.

Why this sector

How AI training works for private equity and venture capital firms

Returns in this asset class come from judgement applied to a great deal of dense reading: information memoranda, management accounts, market reports, board packs, legal drafts. AI is unusually good at the reading and the first pass of structuring, and unusually dangerous when it is trusted with the judgement. A session for a fund is built around exactly that line.

We train the whole firm, not just the deal team. Portfolio operations, IR, finance, legal and compliance each have their own repeated work, and each gets workflows built on their own documents, inside the assistant the firm has licensed, within guardrails the CFO and GC have signed off.

Functions we build for

  • Deal and investment teams
  • Portfolio operations and value creation
  • Investor relations and fundraising
  • Finance and fund operations
  • Legal and compliance

What we train on

Workflows built on the documents your week already contains.

  • Structured first-pass summaries of CIMs, management presentations and data-room documents, with the questions they raise listed for the team

  • Sector mapping and origination research from fragmented public signals, written up in the firm’s own screening format

  • Stress-testing an investment thesis: the strongest counter-arguments, the assumptions that carry the model, the diligence questions that follow

  • Board pack and monthly reporting synthesis across the portfolio, with margin and cash signals surfaced consistently

  • DDQ and RFP responses drafted from the firm’s approved answer bank, with every change tracked

  • Investor updates and LP letters drafted in house style, from the numbers the finance team has already signed off

  • IC memo preparation: sharper synthesis, a challenge pass, and a clean follow-through list

The shape of a typical session for this sector. Yours is built from a survey of the people attending and the assistant your organisation has licensed.

Built around your rules

The guardrails a session in this sector is designed around.

Data rooms and NDAs
What can and cannot leave the data room, and what an enterprise assistant does and does not retain. Agreed with the GC before the day.
MNPI and information barriers
How AI use fits inside the firm’s existing controls on material non-public information and deal-team separation.
FCA and fund documentation
Where drafted material touches regulated communications, the review step stays human and stays recorded.
Portfolio company data
Whose data it is, where it is allowed to sit, and how the same rules travel with a workflow into a portfolio company.

None of this is legal or regulatory advice. It is the list of frameworks we agree the session around with your own compliance, legal or data owner before the day, and it ends up on one page your team signs off in the room.

Where to start

A custom package for your company, team or group

Built from a scoping call and a survey of the people attending. From a half day for one team to a programme across a quarter for the whole organisation.

  • Sessions built on your team’s real work, inside the assistant your organisation has licensed

  • Your data, confidentiality and UK GDPR guardrails agreed first and written on one page

  • A workflow library, a 30-day plan and a review call at week four

  • Leadership sessions, whole-organisation rollouts and internal champions, as the package needs

At your offices, or at ours. Ours is Seeds Hub, Empire Way, Wembley HA9 0RJ. Every engagement is priced for the room, not per head, and scoped on a call. Group size, format, the tools in play and how far you want to take it all move the number, so we quote properly rather than publish a figure that turns out to be wrong.

The two ways in

Questions

Questions we expect from private equity and venture capital firms.

Can you run a session for the investment team only?
Yes, and it is the natural starting point. The team day for the deal team, then a half day for portfolio operations and IR once the first workflows are in use.
How do you handle data-room material in the room?
We do not need live deal material to teach. Sessions run on the team’s real document types with sensitive detail removed, or on a closed deal the GC has cleared, and the guardrails for live work are agreed before the day.
Do you work with portfolio companies as well as the fund?
Yes. The same session shape works for a portfolio company’s leadership or operating team, and the AI Champions Programme is designed for the operating partner who wants adoption to travel across the portfolio.
